Last Minute Christmas Post!

Like the title might suggest, I've been kinda neglecting GaHG lately. I've had some things going on, along with break-induced laze.

But without further adieu, here's some gaming related Christmas sights and sounds (like the really well done Mario Christmas Medley below):

And last but not least, it turns out our good friend The Heavy was Santa all along:

Super Mario Beatdown

Some of you may have heard the story about the two men in New York dressed as Mario and Luigi on Halloween that were caught on camera beating up a cab driver.

Well, it turns out there's an audio track of the incident as well, provided by the nice folks from The Wooden Nickel Shorts

Mama-Mia, That's-a Big-a Mario!

This reminds me of when I was younger and tried to make Lego versions of a lot of my favorite game characters... and failed horribly.

Anyways, the Lego Mario above stands at 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 110 pounds.

Some of you out there might be wondering, "Why would someone build that?" Oddly enough, "too much free time" is not the answer in this case. It's for a Dutch Ronald McDonald Foundation and is up for auction.

So, if you've got a few grand lying around and have always wanted a giant Mario, then bid quickly!

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Another... "interesting" game from Nintendo is New Super Mario Bros Wii. Most gamers have played a Mario Bros side-scroller, but not one like this.

This one's most notable feature is the ability to play with up to 3 other friends offline. It seems like a good idea, but I can imagine it being abused quickly.

Welcome to Super Mario Assholes.

While one can try to work together to beat the game in the fastest time possible, people who have played it said that it's more fun to try to hoard all the items, jump on people, and throw them into pits rather than actually help other players. If you die, you get encased in a bubble, which the other players can save you (if they want to). Overall, it seems like a good idea, definitely better than last year.
